“Fight, Die, Kill For Hindu Rashtra”: Why Statement of Suresh Chavhanke Not A “Hate Speech” For Delhi Police

“We all take an oath, give our word, make a resolution that until our last breath, we will make India hindu Rashtra and keep it a Hindu only nation. we will fight, we will die and if required we will kill as well. We will not hesitate to make any sacrifice at any cost. “” Is this a Hate Speech or Not?

This statement was made by the Editor in Chief of Sudarshan News Suresh Chvhanke at the event organized by the Hindu Yuva Vahini at Delhi in December 2021.

Several PILs were filed after his speech seeking criminal law action against the speakers at the Haridwar Dharam Sansad and the Hindu Yuva Vahini event. The PILs claimed that this was a hate speech invoking hatred for other communities. The Delhi police however says that they did not find this statement to be a hate speech.

So whether it is hate speech or not? What is this case? Arti Ghargi explains.
