As the protest enters second day, videos coming from different states showed Trains set afire, rail and road traffic disrupted, window panes of buses smashed, and mayhem on streets. The anger of the youth spilled on the streets against the new short-term recruitment scheme. Violent protests have now spread to multiple states across the country.

The protest first started in Bihar where protestors yesterday blocked national highway and demanded rollback of the new scheme. Today the protests have spread to UP, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan too.

“The Agnipath scheme introduced by the govt for the recruitment in the armed forces has fired up protests in different parts of the country. Young aspirants have taken to streets since yesterday protesting the govt decision to introduce a Tour of Duty for 4 years.
