Sulli Deals, Bulli Bai, Muslim Women”On Sunday, dozens of Muslim women stormed Twitter to express their anger. Many of them woke up to find themselves listed on an app called Bulli Bai. The app not only took their pictures from their social media accounts without consent which also means the women were stalked online, but also misused it. The pictures of these muslim women were flashed on the app as Bulli Bai of the day. and people visiting the app were encouraged to be part of this pervert act of “”Auctioning”” women online. Journalists, lawyers, a high court judge’s wife and even an old woman who’s fighting for justice for her missing son, the app targetted Muslim women who are fearless, outspoken and vocal on social media.
The FIRs have been registered in the matter one in Delhi and One in Mumbai. The IT minister has said that police are working on the case. The question is, is it enough of an action to compensate for the trauma and humiliation the women went through?
