Get Uncle Sharad Pawar into the NDA fold if you want to become Maharashtra’s chief minister. Congress leader and Leader of opposition Vijay Wadettiwar said on Wednesday. Responding to a query about ‘secret’ meetings between nephew and uncle, the Congress leader said the reason behind Ajit was repeatedly meeting Sharad Pawar was because BJP and PM Modi had a condition with Ajit Pawar to get uncle Sharad Pawar into the NDA fold if he wanted to achieve his dream of becoming Maharashtra’s chief minister. “BJP has got apprehensive ahead of Lok Sabha elections next year. Even after splitting two parties, it was not satisfied. So it wants to include the NCP chief in their fold. They know that he is one of the tallest leaders across the country with a big mass appeal. Therefore, they badly need his support for the victory,” the Congress leader said. Hitting out at the Congress leader DCM Devendra Fadnavis said: “Some people [Opposition] are saying that both Deputy CMs are eying the CM’s chair. Yes, we are eyeing the CM’s chair with the intent to protect Eknath Shinde. So that no one should dare to look at that chair with evil eyes. If you do, then both the Deputy CMs will not spare you,” Mr. Fadnavis said. However, this is also true that time and again there are reports of cold war between Ajit Pawar and CM Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar has time and again expressed his desire to be the CM of the state. Also just days after the rebellion, Rebel NCP leaders Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare, and Praful Patel, after meeting with Sharad Pawar. Praful Patel had then said they requested Sharad Pawar to keep the NCP united but did not get any response from the NCP chief. That’s it for this report.
