The Election Commission of India has commenced hearing the NCP VS NCP name and symbol case. Let’s discuss what both sides have said and when the next hearing is scheduled but before that, if you are watching this on Facebook do like our page and if you are watching this on Youtube do subscribe to HW News English. The Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP has requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) not to freeze the party symbol or name till the entire process of hearing the dispute of who is the real NCP is decided by the poll body. Because in the case of Shiv Sena, the poll body had frozen the poll symbol. But then, the poll body had to take the move as the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena wanted to fight the Andheri by-poll elections. The poll body later allotted the ‘flaming torch’ to the Uddhav Thackeray faction and the ‘Two Swords and Shield symbol’ to the Eknath Shinde faction. And finally the Bow And arrow symbol to Eknath Shinde. Which the Uddhav faction has challenged in the apex court.
The Sharad Pawar faction has maintained its stance that there was no split in the party and that the real NCP remains intact and is with senior Pawar. The Sharad Pawar faction told the EC that it has already moved a disqualification petition against Ajit Pawar and 8 other MLAs who have violated the party decision and aligned with the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Now let’s discuss what the Ajit Pawar faction has said, The Ajit Pawar faction said that it enjoyed the support of 42 of the party’s 53 MLAs, six of the nine MLCs in Maharashtra, and all seven MLAs in Nagaland, apart from one of four in the Lok Sabha and one of three in the Rajya Sabha. The Ajit Pawar faction has alleged that Sharad Pawar never followed democratic principles in the functioning of the NCP and ran the party arbitrarily. Now this is very interesting, almost all the leaders who switched sides have been saying that Mr Sharad Pawar is their mentor some have even said that he is their god. Even after the split for many days they used his pictures and now they are saying in the affidavit that Sharad Pawar never followed democratic principles. The Ajit Pawar camp, further in its affidavit to the EC has requested it to rule in its favor highlighting the EC’s order earlier this year when it gave the Shiv Sena name and party symbol to the Eknath Shinde faction as it had more MLAs and MPs than the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena. Now, Everything looks exactly the same as it used to in the Shiv Sena split except both the faction leaders in public gatherings or interviews have not criticized each other. At the most, the leaders of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP have said MR Pawar was ready to join the NDA much before the Ajit Pawar-led rebellion, and that too the statement was earlier made by DCM Devendra Fadnavis. From the Sharad Pawar-led side as well there are scathing attacks on the BJP and not the rival faction. Is everything harmonious for the Mahayuti now? So the answer is, it does not seem like. Ajit Pawar has today skipped an important GST council meeting in Delhi instead he has visited Nashik for a party-strengthening rally, Earlier in the week he also skipped a cabinet meeting and a crucial evening meeting with the BJP’s top brass in Delhi where Shinde and Fadnavis were present. Besides, Mr Ajit Pawar was also not present when Home Minister Amit Shah had visited Mumbai during the Ganesh festival. Earlier it was believed that Mr. Ajit Pawar was upset over the delay in the guardian minister’s allocation. However, on Wednesday last week, Seven of the nine ministers of the NCP faction were given responsibility of various districts as guardian ministers. Not only this BJP Maharashtra chief Chandrashekar Bawankule was replaced and Ajit Pawar was made guardian minister of Pune. They are also been allotted lucrative portfolios, but still, it looks like all is not good in the Mahayuti. And my final question is what is the follow-up on the 70 thousand crore worth of scams that the PM had alleged referring to the NCP as the Naturlly corrupt party? What is going to happen in Maharashtra only time will tell and we are going to keep you updated for that you have to subscribe to HW News English.
