Man allegedly lynched by cow vigilantes in Maharashtra’s Nashik

A Muslim man was lynched on Saturday by a gang of cow vigilantes on suspicion of smuggling beef in Nashik district, Maharashtra. According to media reports, Afan Ansari and Nasir Sheikh were carrying meat in a car when they were intercepted by the vigilantes and allegedly thrashed. The victim, identified as Afan Ansari, 32, was a resident of the Kurla area in Mumbai. Nasir was his friend and also a resident of Kurla. The duo was rushed to a hospital, where Afan, aged 32, lost his life, according to the police. So far, 10 people have been detained in connection with the incident.
