The MPs of INDIA alliance are all dressed in black to voice their protest over the Manipur issue. They have decided to wear black clothes inside the parliament too. The opposition went with the decision to wear black, to mark their protest for not getting a statement from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Manipur issue. The opposition Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi stated that their black clothes are against the arrogance of the PM. He further stated that when the country is burning and Manipur is divided, the PM is bothered about his own image. The AAP MP Raghav Chadha stated that this protest of opposition is a symbolic protest to give the message that the opposition stands with Manipur. He further stated that the government should save Manipur and the state government of Manipur should be dissolved and the CM of Manipur should be sacked. Since the monsoon session of parliament commenced on July 20, both the houses have been frequently adjourned, after the protest and sloganeering by the opposition parties in both the houses for their demand for comprehensive debate on Manipur in the parliament. Today, as soon as both the houses began their proceedings, the opposition MPs were seen displaying placards over the Manipur issue. Both houses later became ground for slogans. The opposition raised slogans of âPradhan Mantri Sadan Mein Aaoâ, âPradhan Mantri Chuppi Todoâ, âPradhan Mantri Hosh Mein Aaoâ, which means that Prime Minister Come to House, break your silence, and come to your senses. Whereas, the MPs of the ruling party raised the slogan of âKale Kapde, Kala Kaam, Nahi Sahega Hindustanâ, which translates to Dark Clothes, Dark Deeds, India Will Not Tolerate. The Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla further, condemned the behaviour of the opposition MPs for raising slogans and placards, terming their behaviour unsuitable to democracy. Well, this isnât the first time the opposition has come to the parliament in black clothes. Back in 2022, in August, the opposition had protested in black against the price rise, GST hike, and unemployment.
