Rafale deal| Anil Ambani and Conflict of Interest of Kapil Sibal

As the Lok Sabha election date approaches, every day new revelations are coming out regarding the Rafale deal. Days, after it was revealed by a report in the Hindu that the ministry of defence had written a dissent note, addressed to the defence minister regarding the alleged parallel negotiations conducted by the PMO, a report appeared in the Indian Express which has turned the spotlight again on Anil Ambani. The report alleged that Anil Ambani had met the French defence minister Two weeks before the announcement of the Rafale deal. According to the report, Anil Ambani visited then French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian’s office in Paris and had a meeting with his top advisors. This meeting was attended by Le Drian’s special advisor, his industry advisor, and his technical advisor for industrial affairs.
Well, in the past too, the Congress party has held big protests, some even across the country to target the Modi government over Rafale deal. Not a single press conference or the mention of Rafale deal goes without naming Mr Anil Ambani. but then here’s the real catch, the party’s Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal in the morning tweeted against Anil Ambani. While Congress leaders attacking Anil Ambani is nothing new, what is really interesting about Mr Sibal criticizing Anil Ambani is that he himself has represented Mr Ambani in the supreme court. This is a clear case of conflict of interest.
