SC scraps Section 377: But when will India learn?


On 6th of September, 2018, the Supreme Court decriminalised a portion of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, a colonial era provision that criminalises private consensual sexual acts between same sex adults. As the verdict was delivered, students, several gay rights activists celebrated on the lawns of the court. ‘Hip hip hurray’ echoed throughout the premises. Lot of us glimmered in rainbow colours. Celebrations broke out in several metro cities of the country So whats next? The highest judicial forum has accepted same sex love. but did the country at large accept it???
