After multiple days of delay the Taliban announced their new cabinet on Tuesday. Unsurprisingly, the new cabinet is made up of senior Taliban figures, some of whom are notorious for attacks on US forces over the last two decades. After the Taliban takeover of Kabul last month, the terrorist group had promised that the Taliban 2.0 will not be the same as the previous regime. It also made promises of progressive changes and more inclusivity for women in administration. These promises however, have gone for a toss. Interestingly, the new cabinet does not feature even a single woman minister. Moreover, several ethnic communities in Afghanistan including Uzbeks, Tajiks, Hazaras don’t find any representation in the cabinet. On the other hand, the cabinet includes 5 UN-Designated terrorists, some of whom have a bounty of millions of rupees on their heads.
