Was the railway killing communal ?

A tragic incident occurred during the journey of the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express when a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable named Chetan Singh opened fire. The unfortunate incident took place near Palghar railway station and resulted in the loss of lives of a senior officer, ASI Tika Ram Meena, and three unidentified passengers. The RPF constables, including Chetan Singh, were responsible for escorting the train for security reasons. Typically, a team of constables, along with senior officers, are assigned to accompany express trains for protection. Chetan Singh’s group was en route to Mumbai Central for their assignment. Unexpectedly, Chetan Singh started firing rounds from his automatic weapon, an AKM, as the train passed Palghar station. He first killed ASI Tikaram, his escort duty in-charge, and then proceeded to shoot three passengers in coaches B5, S6, and the pantry car. The motive behind the shooting is yet to be determined. This devastating incident has caused immense sorrow, and authorities are conducting investigations to understand the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Inspector General cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner of Western Railway, P.C. Sinha, has reported that Chetan Kumar suffers from mental health problems. As a result, it is important to approach the case without any bias or communal perspective.
