Weekly Political Roundup| Sonia Gandhi reminds what what happened to Vajpayee in 2004

Sonia Gandhi performed a puja on thursday before filing her nomination. There were speculations that the former Congress chief who has reduced her media participation and has avoided public glare in last few years will not be contesting from Rae Bareli. The seat would instead go to her daughter Priyanka Gandhi vadra. However, turning down the rumours, both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi filed nominations from their constituencies.
The Gandhi family in a show of solidarity and its strength in Rae Bareli conducted a roadshow in their home turf of Rae Bareli. After filing her nomination she addressed media persons along with Congress President Rahul Gandhi. When asked if she thinks Narendra Modi is invincible, she asked people not to forget what happened in 2004. She said that even in 2004, many thought that Former PM late Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was invincible but the UPA coalition still won.
