Weekly Political Roundup: Third Generation of Gowda, Pawar family enters electoral ground

Several political parties released the list of candidates this week. Nationalist Congress Party and Janata Dal-Secular, both of whom are in an alliance with the Congress-one in Maharashtra and the other in Karnataka released their candidate list. In the first list, NCP had announced 12 candidates. In the second list, NCP has declared five candidates. Famous actor Amol Kolhe, who has recently joined Nationalist Congress Party, has been nominated from Shirur. Sameer Bhujbal, son of NCP’s second big leader Chhagan Bhujbal, has been nominated from Nashik. However, what really caught the eyeballs was the candidature of Parth pawar from Maval. Earlier, Sharad Pawar had said that only he and his daughter supriya sule will be contesting lok Sabha. However, he later announced that he is backing out of the electoral fray to make a way for Paarth- son of Ajit Pawar.
In Karnataka, the JD(S) has decided to field HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Deve Gowda from Mandya and HD Revanna’s son Prajwal ravanna from Hassan. Thus making a way for the third generation of gowda family in electoral battle.
