Mumbai: The Supreme Court stated today that BJP leader Nupur Sharma should apologize to the “whole country” and that she is “single-handedly responsible” for what has been happening in the nation as a result of her comments on the Prophet Muhammad, which have caused significant outrage among Gulf nations and nationwide protests.

“We witnessed the argument on how she was incited. But it is terrible how she said all of this and then claimed to be a lawyer. She ought to apologize to the entire nation, “Justice Surya Kant stated.

The Supreme Court was responding to Nupur Sharma’s request that all FIRs brought against her due to the comments be transferred to Delhi. Her attorney claimed that she was under threat.

“She faces threats or she has become security threat? The way she has ignited emotions across the country. This lady is single handedly responsible for what is happening in the country,” said Justice Surya Kant.

Pulling up Delhi Police and the TV channel hosting the debate, the bench asked, “What has Delhi police done ? Don’t make us open our mouth, what was the TV debate about? Only to fan an agenda? Why did they choose a sub-judice topic?”Slamming Ms Sharma further, the court said he remarks “show her obstinate and arrogant character”.
