However, the PIB fact check, which counters misinformation on government policies and schemes rubbished the claims.

BJP Leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday took a Dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The former Rajya Sabha MP tweeted an image that said: “India is now 164th fastest growing nation in the world, among 193 countries.”

“From 3rd largest economy in 2011 to 164th in 2021,” the image said.

However, the PIB fact check, which counters misinformation on government policies and schemes, rubbished the claim.

Claim: India slips to the 164th rank in the list of the fastest-growing nations in 2021, from being the third-largest economy in 2011. #PIBFactCheck .This claim is #Fake.  India is the 3rd largest economy in terms of PPP.” The fact-checking body tweeted attaching the viral image.

There have been many instances when Subramanian Swamy has criticized the BJP.  Last month, when the Agnipath Military Recruitment scheme protests had intensified and turned violent the, BJP MP had said: “Rest of India today is looking like Kashmir. We had instead wanted Kashmir to look like the rest of India. Has Amit Shah as Home Minister any clue about a solution? If the situation does not come under control in the next 48 hours, should Shah remain as HM? Modi’s call.”
