“Thank You Modi Ji”: Youth Congress Wages Poster War Against Govt Over Falling Rupee

Youth Congress

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on Saturday took its poster war against the government a notch above, as it placed banners across the national capital and other cities, highlighting the unprecedented fall of Indian Rupee against the US Dollar. The posters in Delhi, with PM Modi’s caricature, not only notes the fact that rupee has fallen to “record” low, but also jokingly thanks the Prime Minister for the same.

According to the Youth Congress, the continuous fall in value of Rupee will not only directly hamper the pocket of common man, but will also impact the economy negatively.

In Gujarat’s Rajkot, similar posters by IYC were observed, in which picture of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh was above PM Modi. Dr Singh’s old comment on PM Modi, in which he had said Modi would “prove out to be a disastrous PM”, has also been mentioned in the poster. The poster says Dr Singh’s “forecast” turned out to be right, as value of rupee has falled to record low of 80 against dollar.

Rahul Rao, National President, Media Department of Youth Congress, told IANS, “As per the order of the President, the protest has been done by putting up posters at various places in Delhi, and these posters will also be put up at different places of the country in the coming days. Today the rupee has reached a level that no one could have imagined to reach. Those who used to talk a lot earlier on the rupee, they are silent these days. What was impossible earlier has become possible, the rupee is in its worst phase. Modi ji, break the silence and say something on the plight of the rupee.”
