After Murder Of SDPI Leader, Kerala BJP Leader Hacked To Death

Kochi: A BJP leader in Kerala’s Alappuzha district was allegedly hacked to death in his residence on Sunday by unidentified muggers. This comes a day after a Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) leader was allegedly attacked and later killed in the same district.

Amid these two killings, section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in the entire Alappuzha district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as BJP’s OBC Morcha secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan. On Sunday morning a mob allegedly entered his residence and hacked him to death.

On Saturday, KS Shan, the state secretary of the Social Democratic Party of India in Kerala, was attacked by an unidentified gang in Alappuzha district.

KS Shan was on his way home when a car rammed into his bike. He sustained over 40 injuries and was admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Kochi. He died on Sunday morning.

MK Faizi, SDPI president, has alleged that KS Shan was murdered by members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the gruesome murders in Alappuzha. He said that the police will come down hard on those behind the attacks.

“Such narrow minded and inhumane acts is bad for the state. The murder groups and their hatred filled approach should be singled out and kept away from civil society,” he said.
