CBI Raids Karnataka Congress Chief DK Shivakumar’s Residence Ahead of Bypolls

The raid by the CBI began at 6 am at his residence in Doddahalli village in Kanakapura constituency, which is represented by Shivakumar in the state assembly.

 

 

Bengaluru| The central investigating agency CBI is conducting raids at the house of DK Shivakumar, who became the President of Karnataka Congress a few days back. CBI raids are also going on at his brother DK Suresh’s house. Officials said that at least 60 officials of the central agency are conducting raids at 15 places. Shivakumar is widely known as the troubleshooter of his party and is known as a loyalist of the party. He rose to prominence during 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections.

The raid by the CBI began at 6 am at his residence in Doddallahalli village in Kanakapura constituency, which is represented by Shivakumar in the state assembly. DK Suresh is an MP from Bengaluru Rural. One of the houses being raided is that of Iqbal Hussain, close associate to Shivakumar.

Recently, DK Shivakumar had said that he suspected that his phone was being tapped. He demanded an inquiry into the case. On the other hand, the state Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai had rejected Shivakumar’s claims.
