#MeToo Hits Wrestling World:Top Wrestlers Allege Sexual Harassment By WFI President

#MeToo- a movement that started in 2018 bringing powerful men indulging in sexual harassment and predatory practices to knees exposed the dark underbelly of many industries. It has not hit the wrestling world. Hundreds of top wrestlers of the country have sat down at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, in cold winter for the last two days. They include Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, Olympic Medallist Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Jitender Kinha and CWG medallist Sumit Malik etc. They are protesting against Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Singh. Their allegation is that Brij Bhushan Singh Sexually exploited some female sportspersons. Until their demands are met the wrestlers have refused to move from Jantar Mantar, sending Alarm bells ringing for Modi govt. Why you ask? Because Brij Bhushan Singh is a BJP MP. So what’s happening here, what exactly triggered the protest from the wrestlers? What has brij Bhushan singh said about this? And what is the govt doing?
