Golaghat(Assam) | Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal speaks about the Hooch tragedy, “We will not spare the people who were behind this incident. We have also initiated an investigation into the matter”
Sonowal also announced that ₹2 lakh will be given to the families of each of the victims and ₹50,000 for those who are undergoing treatment in the hospitals.
The tragedy struck last week in Assam which resulted in the deaths of more than 150 people, caused by the consumption of spurious liquor in Salmora tea estate by a large number of people.
Over 25 people have been arrested, 100 cases registered and 15,000 litres of spurious liquor have been seized in a massive statewide crackdown by the excise department officials.
