Shehzad Poonawalla asks why Sonia Gandhi will decide what will happen in Rajasthan if Gehlot becomes Congress President

New Delhi: BJP once again questions Congress Party Presidential Polls. BJP is questioning Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s statement confirming that he will be contesting the election. On Being questioned that what will happen in Rajasthan? He had replied that Ajay Maken and Sonia Gandhi will decide the ‘further proceedings’ if Ashok Gehlot becomes the next President of the Congress Party. To this, BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla asks why Sonia Gandhi will decide what will happen in Rajasthan if Gehlot becomes Congress President. He asks why Gandhi will be involved in that decision-making process as she won’t be serving as party president if Gehlot is elected.

“What capacity will she have? She will be ex-president! Shouldn’t Congress MLAs decide? So Gandhis will have REMOTE CONTROl!” he tweeted terming the election ‘farzi chunav’.

He further added, “Sir, after you become president, how and why will Sonia Gandhi decide? Is she permanent president and will you be a remote-controlled president.”

Amid there were speculations of Gehlot contesting elections before he made the announcement, there was a buzz about Congress Leader Sachin Pilot will take up charge as Chief Minister if Gehlot becomes Party President.

Earlier, Gehlot had stated that he can keep two posts, but Rahul Gandhi emphasized over ‘one person one post’ norm and said that Ashok Gehlot cannot be Congress President and Rajasthan Chief Minister at the same time.

Describing the post of Congress president as an “ideological post”, Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said the position “represents a set of ideas and belief system and vision of India”. Answering a question during a press conference on the 15th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra here, Gandhi said: “You are taking on a position. It is a historic position that defines and has defined a particular view of India. It is not just an organizational post. The Congress president is an ideological post, it is a belief system. My advice would be whoever becomes the president should remember that he represents a set of ideas and a belief system and a vision of India.”
