Facebook Down, Users Feed Clogged By Celebrityโ€™s Posts And Comments

Facebook down celebrities bug on users feed
Facebook users reported that celebrity spam was clogging their news feeds. Followers posted memes to take advantage of the bug.

 

Mumbai: On Wednesday morning, Facebook encountered a strange glitch that flooded user newsfeed with infinite messages from celebrity accounts.

The bug was quickly utilized by users, who sent memes to famous people they knew would be widely spread.
Many users who reported the bug on Twitter also uploaded screenshots of their news feed. The number of outages reported on Wednesday peaked between 12 and 3 pm, with 339 reports at 1:05 pm, according to Downdetector. According to the outage monitoring website, 60% of disruptions were recorded on apps, 26% on feeds, and 14% on websites. Thousands of outage reports came in from the US and the UK at the same time.

A Meta spokeswoman was quoted as saying by Dailymail, โ€œWeโ€™re aware that some people are having trouble with their Facebook Feed. Weโ€™re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience.โ€

In October last year, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp faced outages for six hours, creating panic among millions of users and Wall Street investors.
