Counting continues in Pakistan a day after violent polls and internet outages. As of Friday, official results were declared on just 12 of 265 seats following Thursday’s election to form a new government. Jailed former PM Imran Khan’s PTI independents were leading in multiple areas, posing a tough challenge to rival ex-premier Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N party even in its Punjab stronghold. Early officially confirmed seats show 5 won by Khan-backed candidates, 4 by PML-N, and 3 by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s PPP.
