Tripura: Delayed Response To Elephant Attack Sparks Local Protest

An elderly man, 85, was fatally attacked by a wild elephant in Tripura’s Khowai district on Sunday evening, prompting locals to protest against forest officials and Tripura State Rifles for an alleged delayed response. Ranjan Chowdhury, the deceased’s son, recounted the incident, stating that despite earlier assurances by Tribal Affairs Minister Bikash Debbarma to address such elephant attacks, there has been no action even after two years since his election.
