Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman criticized the opposition for a “misleading campaign” regarding the Union Budget, arguing that not naming a state doesn’t exclude it from funding. She cited UPA-era budgets, stating, “The Budget speech of 2004-05 did not take the name of 17 states. Did money not go to those states?” Sitharaman highlighted that Rs 818 crore was allocated to Kerala and significant funds to Jammu and Kashmir for development and police costs.
