Trump offered Ottawa can join Golden Dome ‘for free’ if they meet the condition
US President Donald Trump has made claims that Canada is deciding about joining the US as its 51st state. President Trump has offered the Canadian country the offer of being a part of the Golden Dome defence system. But this is only if Canada becomes a part of US as a state. He said that the US will allow Canada “free entry” into the defence system, if it does so.
US And Canada: Golden Dome System Free For Becoming State
If Canada decides to join USA as a state, it can participate in the Golden Dome system for zero cost. If Canada chooses not to join the US as a state, it will have to pay 61 billion dollars.
“I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Canadian President Mark Carney had earlier visited the White House after having won the federal elections. During this visit, Mark Carney talked with Donald Trump and also conversed on the topic of the Golden Dome programme.

President Mark Carney spoke to reporters, saying that the talks are still on.
“Is it a good idea for Canada? Yes, it is good to have protections in place for Canadians,” President Carney said last week.
US-Canada Relations Since President Trump Assumes Office
US-Canada relations had hit a low since Donald Trump became the President of the US. His warning about placing tariffs and his drive to merge Canada with the US have dropped relations between both.
The Golden Dome missile defence system is a new US system that will operate as a counter-missile defence. The missile shield costs $175 billion dollars and will protect the nation from “modern threats”. It is a varied range from cruise missiles to ballistic missiles up to hypersonic weapons too.
