NCP leader Nawab Malik said, “If the BJP claims to form the government, NCP will vote against them during the floor test in the House.”
Mumbai| ShivSena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday said that his party will announce its next strategy if no one else will be able to form government in Maharashtra. He said that if BJP had a majority, then why did not they claim to form the government in the 24 hours after the result. “If the BJP fails to muster a majority to form the government by Monday, then Shiv Sena will execute its plan,” he said.
Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday invited the largest party BJP to form the government in the assembly elections. Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has also hinted at joining the Shiv Sena to form the government. NCP’s Mumbai unit president Nawab Malik has said if the Shiv Sena votes against the BJP in the House, we can think of supporting it.

Malik said, “If the BJP claims to form the government, NCP will vote against them during the floor test in the House. We will see if the ShivSena also votes against the BJP to topple the government. After that, we will think about the support of an alternative government led by Shiv Sena.”
‘Governor should take precaution in forming government’
Talking to the news agency, the NCP leader said, “The Governor has started the process of government formation by calling BJP to form the government.” It can also start earlier. The governor should now take precautionary measures as the BJP does not have legislators to form a balanced government. They should also keep an eye on the horse-trading initiated by the BJP.” Malik said that the party has called a meeting of MLAs on 12 November to discuss the political situation.
