Maharashtra Reports 10 New Covid-19 Cases, Total Reaches to 63

Out of 63 people who tested positive in Maharashtra, around 12-14 have been infected by coming in contact with other infected people.

Mumbai| Maharashtra saw a rise in coronavirus positive cases on Saturday as 10 new cases were reported from the state’s capital, said the Health Minister Rajesh Tope in a briefing.

The numbers of infected patients went from 52 to 63 as 10 new cases were reported from Mumbai while one case was reported from Pune.

The 8 out of 11 people who have been tested positive recently have a travel history to the countries with coronavirus outbreak whereas three of them have been infected by coming in contact with another coronavirus carrier.

The health minister Rajesh Tope said he’s of an opinion that local trains in Mumbai should be closed to avoid more infection. He also said that stage is still in stage 2 of the pandemic and there has been no community transmission.

Mr. Tope also suggested that citizens should avoid the usage of public transport in order to be safe from the covid-19 virus.

He also informed that around 12-14 people out of the 63 positive patients have been infected due to connection with a positive person while others have a travel history to other countries.

Maharashtra government has already announced the private businesses to shutdown till 31st March in light of the increasing numbers of coronavirus patients. Schools, theatres, religious places stay close amid the fear of covid-19.

Maharashtra has so far reported the highest cases of coronavirus than other states. Kerala has 40 cases. Delhi has 27 positive cases whereas Uttar Pradesh has reported 24 cases.
