Mumbai | ICICI bank on Friday announced that retired IAS officer Girish Chandra Chaturvedi will take over as Additional (Independent) Director and non-executive part-time Chairman.
In a statement issued to the Stock exchange, ICICI bank said that Chaturvedi is been appointed for a period of 3 years with effect from 1 July, subject to the approval of shareholders.
“The Board is extremely pleased with this development and believes that Mr. Chaturvedi will provide maturity and sagacity to the deliberations of the Board. This would also ensure a seamless and smooth transition of leadership at the Board and would address stakeholder concerns in this behalf. We affirm that Girish Chandra Chaturvedi is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any order of Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other such authority,” ICICI Bank read.
Girish Chaturvedi, a 1977 batch IAS officer will take over from MK Sharma who retires from the bank on June 30. Chaturvedi earlier served as the Oil secretary in the union government till January 2013.
