BJP celebrates 38th ‘Raising Day’ at Kashmir

SRINAGAR, April 6: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today celebrated its 38th ‘Raising Day’ ( 38th anniversary of the party) on Thursday across Kashmir valley.

On the occasion, V.C SICOP and Senior Leader Dr Ali Mohammad Mir said that people have made the BJP as the country’s largest political party in terms of representation in the national parliament and state assemblies.

“BJP is the world’s largest party in terms of primary membership of more than 14 crore cadre with 13 lakh trained party cadre,” Mir told the workers in a function at the party office in Jawaharnagar, in Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the State Media Secretary Altaf Thakru said the party has more than 4.5 lakh members in Kashmir, adding, it was party’s pro-public and good governance agenda which has attracted the masses.

He also said: “BJP is committed to India’s unity and integrity, its intrinsic identity and the social strength. The party believes in the principle of “justice for all and appeasement of none”, that was why it attracted large masses into its fold.”

Senior Leader and Vistark Incharge Kashmiri Malik Mushtaq Noorabadi said: “BJP leadership has taken care of the aspirations of country’s citizens their empowerment, faster connectivity, more jobs, better education and improved quality of life”. He further added, the Good Governance model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encompasses these broad themes into simple takeaways which have the potential of transforming India in the near future.

While elaborating the party’s present strength, BJP State Vice President Minority Morcha Adv. Syed Wajahat Hussain said that in 1980’s BJP has only two MP’s which now has crossed over 286 MP and BJP is presently ruling over 72 percent of country’s population.

Later sweets were distributed among the workers at party office Srinagar. The function was organized by Protocol Incharge Kashmir / general Secretary and caretaker of Srinagar District,

In Kashmir, the main functions were also held at Anantnag, Pulwama, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Kulgam and Shopian, where hundreds of party workers and leaders participated.
