India’s Coronavirus Cases Breach Another High, More Than 50000 Cases Reported In Single Day

In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase of 26,588 in the number of active Coronavirus cases, i.e, patients undergoing treatment.

 

New Delhi| In a more worrying trend, more than 50000 new cases of Coronavirus have been recorded in the country in the last 24 hours. According to the data by the Health Ministry, on Wednesday, 53,419 new cases of Covid-19 were found. This is the highest since October 23 when 53,931 patients were found. While 26,575 people recovered, the death toll on Wednesday was 249. . Maharashtra accounts for a maximum number of cases with 31,855 patients in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase of 26,588 in the number of active cases, i.e, patients undergoing treatment. With this, the total active cases in the country have increased to 3.91 lakhs. Today it will cross 4 lakhs.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 23,75,038,82 samples have been examined in the country till 24 March.

Highlights

  • So far, 2.03 lakh people in Maharashtra have been fined for not wearing masks. The PRO of Mumbai Police said that a fine of Rs 4.06 crore has been collected so far.

 

  • RS Sharma, chairman of the Empowered Group for Covid-19 Vaccination, said that Co-Win will no longer appoint the schedule of the second dose automatically. Depending on the difference between the two doses of the vaccine, people will have to schedule it themselves.

 

  • The Nainital High Court of Uttarakhand has made it mandatory for pilgrims coming to Kumbh to bring a negative RT-PCR report of Covid-19. This report should not be older than 3 days. Another option has been given to those coming to Kumbh, under which pilgrims can also show a certificate of Coronavirus vaccination. The High Court has also ordered Chief Secretary Om Prakash and Secretary Health Amit Negi to monitor the arrangements by staying in Haridwar itself.

 

  • Director of National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. SK Singh said that 771 cases of coronavirus variant have been detected in 18 states of the country. Of these, 736 cases have been reported from the UK, 34 from South Africa and 1 from the Brazil variant.

 

  • Instructions have been issued to impose lockdown in Maharashtra’s Beed and Nanded from 26 March to 4 April. Marriage halls, hotels and restaurants will remain closed in the city during this period. Also, colleges and schools will not be opened. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to keep all private offices closed and work from home.
