Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Assembly Election 2019: In NCP bastion Satara, Udayanraje Bhosale trailing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had held a meeting for Udayanraje in Satara. However, none of this seems to have benefited Udayanraje.

Satara| BJP has been hit hard in the by-elections in Satara Lok Sabha constituency, which has been the focus of entire Maharashtra. Udayan Raje Bhosale, who resigned from the Lok Sabha by resigning before the assembly election, is trailing with over 90,000 votes. On the other hand, NCP candidate Shrinivas Patil is leading.

Udayanraje had jumped into the BJP after several Congress-NCP MLAs had left the party before the Assembly elections. He had resigned as MP only three months after the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP had organized a big event in Delhi and made Udayanraje’s BJP entry into ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had held a meeting for Udayanraje in Satara. However, none of this seems to have benefited Udayanraje.

Shrinivas Patil, a supporter of Sharad Pawar and a former MLA of Satara, seems to be giving him a strong fight. Srinivas Patil, a highly educated, has a feeling of affection among voters. The voters in Satara who believed in Pawar seem to be supporting them. Of course, there are still several rounds of counting that will have to wait for the final result.
