Maharashtra Speaker To Announce Verdict Tomorrow On Disqualification

After a prolonged delay, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar is expected to announce his decision on the disqualification case involving Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Shiv Sena MLAs tomorrow. The Supreme Courtโ€™s initial deadline for the verdict was December 31, 2023, with a 10-day extension granted. The decision, based on 34 petitions from different Shiv Sena factions, will be delivered in six parts, addressing actions sought under the anti-defection law by both Shinde and Thackeray factions.
