Netflix removed a Tamil-language film, “Annapoorani – The Goddess of Food,” from its platform amid social media backlash for portraying the daughter of a Hindu priest consuming meat. The depiction stirred protests by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, criticizing Netflix at its Mumbai office. Ramesh Solanki, of the “Hindu IT Cell,” filed a complaint citing offensive scenes, claiming the film deliberately targeted Hindu sentiments. Netflix in India has not commented on the matter.
