Centre To Introduce Six New Bills In Monsoon Session

The upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, scheduled from July 22 to August 12, will see the introduction of six new bills by the Centre. These legislative proposals aim to address various sectors and update existing laws.

The bills to be introduced are:

• Finance Bill
• Disaster Management Bill
• Boilers Bill
• Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak Bill
• Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill
• Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill

Of particular note is the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak 2024, set to replace the Aircraft Act 1934. This bill is expected to facilitate ease of doing business in the civil aviation sector.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the budget on July 23, a day after the session begins.

In preparation for the session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has constituted the Business Advisory Committee (BAC). This 14-member committee, comprising MPs from various parties, will determine the parliamentary agenda. Notable members include Nishikant Dubey and Anurag Singh Thakur from BJP, K. Suresh and Gaurav Gogoi from Congress, and representatives from TMC, DMK, and Shiv Sena UBT.

As the session approaches, all eyes are on these new bills and their potential impact on various sectors of the Indian economy and governance.
