Supreme Court Lays Guidelines For Summoning Officials

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court established a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for summoning government officials to court. Additionally, it also issued warnings against humiliation or comments on their attire. The bench, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, stressed the importance of avoiding arbitrary summoning, mandating all high courts to adhere to the SOP. All high courts must follow the SOP.
