Manipur CM Proposes Committee to Address Kuki Status

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh stated the state government may form a committee to address the Kukis’ Scheduled Tribe status. Responding to a Meitei leader’s request to remove Kukis from the list and emphasizing the Meiteis’ longstanding demand for ST status, Singh emphasized the need for a comprehensive proposal involving all tribes before any decisions on inclusion or deletion are made.
