The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) will pursue “all possible legal, constitutional and democratic measures” to overturn a Supreme Court ruling allowing divorced Muslim women to claim maintenance under CrPC Section 125, calling it “against Islamic law.” The board also opposes the Uniform Civil Code, labelling it “impractical and undesirable,” and calls for the “restoration” of the Places of Worship Act to prevent new religious disputes.
