News coming from the official website of the PM of India portrays PM Modi’s upcoming plans. On September 23rd, 2023, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Varanasi for a series of significant events. At approximately 1:30 PM, the Prime Minister will preside over the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi. Later, around 3:15 PM, he will arrive at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre to partake in the closing ceremony of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023. During this occasion, he will also dedicate 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya institutions constructed across Uttar Pradesh to the nation.
The establishment of the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi represents a crucial step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of developing modern, world-class sports infrastructure. Situated in Ganjari, Rajatalab, Varanasi, this state-of-the-art stadium will span over 30 acres and involve an estimated expenditure of approximately Rs 450 crores. The stadium’s design is inspired by Lord Shiva, featuring crescent-shaped roof covers, floodlights in the shape of tridents, seating resembling ghat steps, and metallic sheets on the facade designed in the shape of Bilvipatra. It is designed to accommodate up to 30,000 spectators.
In pursuit of enhancing access to quality education, the construction of 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya institutions across Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of roughly Rs 1115 crores, has been initiated. These schools are exclusively intended for the education of children of laborers, construction workers, and orphans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to provide high-quality education and support the holistic development of these children. Each school is situated on 10-15 acres of land and includes classrooms, a sports ground, recreational areas, a mini auditorium, a hostel complex, mess facilities, and residential flats for staff. These residential schools are expected to ultimately accommodate up to 1,000 students each.
Prime Minister Modi’s vision to bolster the cultural vibrancy of Kashi has led to the inception of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav. This grand event witnessed the participation of over 37,000 individuals across 17 different disciplines, showcasing their talents in singing, instrumental performances, street theater (nukkad natak), dancing, and more. Outstanding participants will have the opportunity to showcase their cultural talents during the program at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre.
