Addis Ababa (Ethiopia)| Ethiopian Airlines has decided to ground all Boeing-737 aircraft until further notice following the crash that killed 157 people.
“Although we don’t yet know the cause of the crash, we had to decide to ground the particular fleet as extra safety precaution,” as per the statement as released on Twitter.
Ethiopian Airlines is the second organization to suspend the Boeing jets after China’s Civil Aviation decided to ground the flights due to safety concerns, earlier in the day.
This is the second accident with the same Boeing jet. In October, a 737 MAX was flown by Indonesian budget carrier Lion Air flying from Jakarta on a domestic flight crashed 13 minutes after take-off, killing all 189 passengers and crew on board.
