Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award will be called the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. This move came a day after India’s men won the hockey bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and hours after the India women’s hockey team missed out on a maiden Olympic medal.
