Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhary Accepts Country’s Role In Pulwama, Then Takes A U-Turn

As soon as the Imran Khan government came in the dock on the statement of it’s minister, Fawad Chaudhary appeared to be overturning the statement.

Islamabad| Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhary, made a sensational disclosure on Thursday accepting the role of his country in terrorist attack last year in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. However, as the statement backfired the Pak minister was seen in damage control mode.

Pakistan’s Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhary was speaking in the parliament when he said that the attack in Pulwama is a big success for Pakistan under the leadership of Imran Khan. The statement by the sitting Pakistan cabinet minister seems to confirm India’s position that the neighbouring country is sponsoring terrorism.

As soon as the Imran Khan government came in the dock on the statement of it’s minister, Fawad Chaudhary appeared to be overturning the statement. He tweeted clarifying his statement. He said what he meant was ‘after the Pulwama incident, when we hit India’. Fawad Chaudhary further said that the country’s forces have not shown bravery by killing innocent people. “We condemn terrorism,” he said.

It is worth noting that a day before Chaudhary’s statement, Pakistani MP Aiyaz Sadiq gave a statement in Parliament that the Indian wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman was released under pressure from India. He said that when Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that India was going to attack Pakistan, Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa’s legs were shaking.
