“Resistance Not Over”: Ahmad Massoud Calls For “Uprising”, Blames Pak For Attack

The resistance leader also confirmed the bombardment by Pakistan and Taliban in Panjshir which killed Fahim Dashty and many of his family members.

Ahmad Massoud, the leader of National Resistance Front (NRF) and son of legendary Afghan commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, has released an audio message on his Facebook page on Monday after the Taliban claimed the “complete control” of the Panjshir valley.

Ahmad Massoud, in his message to the people of Afghanistan, said the resistance forces are still present in Panjshir and continue to fight Taliban forces. The resistance leader also confirmed the bombardment by Pakistan and Taliban in Panjshir which killed Fahim Dashty and many of his family members.

According to reports, Massoud said that Pakistan directly attacked Afghans in Panjshir and the international community watched silently. Stressing that he wouldn’t give up until his last drop of blood, Massoud emphasized that the Taliban are continuing its attack with Pakistan’s aid.

Massoud also urged for international assistance in the wake of the Taliban invasion.

Ali Maisam Nazary, the head of Foreign Relations for the resistance, tweeted after Massoud’s message saying he has called for a general uprising in Afghanistan against the Taliban.

“Our leader, HE Ahmad Massoud, has declared a general uprising throughout Afghanistan against the criminal & terrorist network known as the Taliban and its partners in his message to the nation. Everyone, it is time for us to rise up against the evil & fulfill our duty,” Nazary said.

Earlier, the resistance had denied the Taliban’s claim of the “complete capture” of the holdout Panshir Valley and told NDTV: “The road in the Panjshir Valley is with the Taliban. However, fighting continues in the sub-valleys.”

“Taliban’s claim of occupying Panjshir is false. The NRF forces are present in all strategic positions across the valley to continue the fight. We assure the ppl of Afghanistan that the struggle against the Taliban & their partners will continue until justice & freedom prevails,” the NRF had tweeted.
