Video: 8 killed, 6 injured in a shooting incident

Russia: Eight students were killed and six were injured in a shooting incident in one of the building at Perm University, Russia. The shooter was nerutralised and detained.

A video of students jumping from on of the building at the Perm University went viral on Monday. Initially, news agency Reuters cited Interfax and said that that there were wounded and dead in the victims. According to TASS, the unidentified person entered the university building and opened fire. Some students, who were in the building locked themselves in the auditorium building and many jumped out of the windows.

The shooter is not named but id identified as an 18-year-old student. according to Euronews he was already known to the Russia’s Investigative Committee. The university was evacuated after the incident.

The security and law enforcement agencies reached the university campus shortly after the first shots were heard, according to TASS. According to the press service, at least four people were initially reported injured in the incident. The TASS report said that the individual was carrying a ‘traumatic non-lethal’ weapon. According to another report, however, the weapon was ‘lethal’.
