WASHINGTON| On Tuesday the USA President Donald Trump accused World Health Organisation of being bias towards China. Trump also alarms to cut US funding to the WHO for this behaviour.
The USA President while addressing media said he was “going to put a very powerful hold on” funding to WHO. WHO to date gets more funds from the US than any other nation. The USA is the highest funding source of the UN body.
Trump said, “We’re going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO,” who pursues an “America First” agenda and has previously criticized other UN and multilateral agencies.
When asked about how much money USA will hold back responding to it Trump said, “I’m not saying I’m going to do it”. Not more expanding the topic and the details related to it, he further added, “We will look at ending funding”.

In past also Trump tweeted and accused WHO of being “very China-centric”.
Trump questioned why the WHO had given “such a faulty recommendation”, apparently referring to the UN body’s advice against curtailing international travel to stop the virus which first spread from China.
Trump previous decision to ban travel from the country explaining the background he wrote, “Fortunately I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on”.
China faces criticism across the globe especially in Washington and more particularly from Republicans, the way they handled the pandemic and US President Donald Trump questioned China’s statistics for the cases and death. Trump even accused China for not unfolding the accurate numbers
However, Trump himself has been widely criticized for initially downplaying the virus, which he likened to an ordinary flu and said was under control in the United States, before later accepting that it was a national emergency.
