โ€œWonโ€™t Forgive, Wonโ€™t Forgetโ€, Says Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky

Zelenskyy

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to punish all who โ€œcommitted atrocitiesโ€, in the war claiming lives of hundreds, including women and children, Zelenskyy said that โ€œwe will not forget, we will not forgiveโ€ those involved.

In an address, Zelensky said โ€œItโ€™s murder, deliberate murder,โ€ warning more shelling on the way. โ€œWe will not forgive, we will not forget, we will punish everyone who committed atrocities in this war on our land,โ€ he said. โ€œThere will be no quiet place on this Earth except the grave.โ€

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, โ€œThe United States has seen very credible reports of deliberate attacks on civilians in Ukraine.โ€

The third round of talks, between Russia and Ukraine was aimed to mend a way out of the bloody conflict, is set for Monday.

Intentions of International Sanctions to punish Moscow, have so far done little to slow the invasion, and Washington said it was now discussing a ban on Russian oil imports with Europe.

Ukraineโ€™s calls for a no-fly zone have been rebuffered by the NATO allies, with one senior US senator, Marco Rubio, saying that it could lead to โ€œWorld War IIIโ€ against nuclear-armed Russia. President Vladimir Putin has threatened โ€œcolossal and catastrophic consequences not only for Europe but also the whole worldโ€ if a no-fly zone is imposed.

TestHostEntry

Mumbai | NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of his friend George Fernandes and paid rich tributes to him, lauding his fiery oratory and his contributions as Union minister and trade union leader.

In his message, Pawar hailed Fernandes for โ€œstrengthening and giving new directionโ€ to the workersโ€™ (labour) movement.

Former defence minister Fernandes, 88, died in New Delhi on Tuesday following a prolonged illness.

Pawar recalled that Fernandes, who hailed from North Karnataka, came to Mumbai in 1949 and โ€œbecame one of Mumbaiโ€™sโ€.

โ€œHe dedicated himself to voice concerns of workers and to ensure justice for them. He built a strong organisation of BMC (civic body) workers. He also ably led the union of railway workers,โ€ Pawar noted.

Describing Fernandes as a โ€œgood parliamentarianโ€, Pawar praised him for leaving behind mark as an โ€œeffective administratorโ€ while discharging duties as the countryโ€™s defence and industries minister.

โ€œGeorge was an excellent orator. His command over several languages was praiseworthy. We have lost a leader who created an independent identity of himself and who consistently fought for the commoners and workers,โ€ he said.

โ€œHe was my personal friend. With his demise, I have lost a senior colleague,โ€ Pawar added.
