#Live: Election Results 2024: BJP Wins In Haryana, NC Alliance In Jammu & Kashmir

Counting of votes is ongoing for assembly polls in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. In Haryana, the Congress is ahead in early leads in the 90 seat assembly where the BJP has ruled for 2 consecutive terms. In Jammu and Kashmir,  which also has 90 assembly constituencies, the latest trends show that the Congress and National Conference (NC) alliance  is ahead of the BJP.

  • ECI Rejects Congress’ Claims Of 'Unexplained Slowdown' In Haryana Results

    Within Hours of the Congress raising the issue of an “unexplained slowdown” in updating the results of the Haryana elections on its website, the Election Commission rejected the claims and called it an attempt to “surreptitiously give credence to irresponsible, unfounded and uncorroborated malafide narratives.”

    “Approximately 25 rounds across all the constituencies are being updated every five minutes,
    which testifies dissemination of counting process in a speedy manner,” the poll body said in a reply to Congress MP Jairam Ramesh’s letter.

    The BJP has won 10 seats. In Jammu and Kashmir’s 90-seat assembly, the  National Conference (NC) has secured eight. Congress has one seat, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has bagged one.

    Olympian-turned-politician, Congress’ Vinesh Phogat is leading against BJP’s Yogesh Kumar in the Julana’s seat in Haryana’s Jind district by 5,231 votes. She has so far received 57,998 votes, while Mr Kumar has got 52,767. If Phogat wins, it will be the first time in 19 years that the Congress wins in Julana.
