New Delhi | Want to achieve meditation and salvation like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then rent a cave in Kedarnath at rupees 990 per day.
As per the details available with Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam, the caves named as Rudra Meditation caves were initially priced at 3000 per day, however, the tariff was reduced and was priced at Rs 990. The caves was built after PM Modi’s suggested that such structures could be created in the area, located one km from Kedarnath.
According to the report published in Hindustan Times citing a Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam official, the caves did not receive any response because they were opened during the extreme winter season and the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam booking policy required a minimum of three-day booking period in order to stay at the caves. The clause has, however, been removed.
The report further added that the websites describe the cave as ‘modern meditation cave’ equipped with electricity, drinking water facilities and the GMVL authorities provide tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner at prescribed timings.
The websites state, “The cave offers complete isolation but in case of an emergency, Manager GMVN Kedarnath can be contacted any time for any assistance by a SIP phone. A bell is kept in the cave to call upon the attendant from GMVN.”
