Samajwadi Party’s Poonam Sinha files nomination for Lucknow constituency

Lucknow | Wife of actor Shatrughan Sinha and Samajwadi Party candidate Poonam Sinha today filed her nomination for the Lok Sabha election from the Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency.

Sinha, a joint candidate of the SP-BSP-RLD alliance will contest against Union Home Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh and Congress’ Acharya Pramod.

Poonam Sinha had joined the SP in the presence of party leader Dimple Yadav in Lucknow on 16th of April, the day when the sitting MP and union home minister Rajnath Singh filed his nomination papers.
Reminding people of Lucknow of the work done in the past by his party, the SP chief appealed to them to vote for Sinha. (byte 2)

Making the announcement of Poonam’s candidacy from Lucknow, he said that it was the decision of the party and one of the reasons for the decision is that the first MP from Lucknow was a woman.

Voting on Lucknow will be held on May 6 while the counting of votes will take place on May 23
