Uddhav Thackeray, Sukhbir Badal to miss Amit Shah’s NDA dinner

New Delhi | Ahead of the dinner of NDA leaders called by BJP president Amit Shah, rumours have arrived that Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and Shiromani Akali Dal’s Sukhbir Badal are likely to give the dinner a miss.

BJP President Amit Shah had called for dinner of its alliance partners on Tuesday, 2 days ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls results. According to rumours, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal might give it a miss and are likely to send their representatives.

Earlier there were rumours that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also opt out of the dinner after his statement on BJP leader Pragya Thakur and send Rajya Sabha MP RCP Singh. However, he denied such rumours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also reported to attend the dinner along with other ministers. NDA leaders like LJP’s Ram Vilas Paswan and Tamil Nadu NDA leaders, including chief minister K Palaniswami will present in the meeting.

Most exit polls on Sunday forecast another term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with some of them projecting that BJP-led NDA will get more than 300 seats to comfortably cross the majority mark of 272 in the Lok Sabha.

Exit polls were, however, divided in their prediction for the politically most crucial state of Uttar Pradesh with some like ABP-Nielsen saying that the BJP’s tally may fall to 22 from 71 while a few others like New 18-Ipsos and News 24-Chanakya tipping its tally over 60 seats.
